Nartai Bekezhanov (1890-1954) – Prominent Kazakh Akyn, singer, composer, deserving worker of the art of Kazakhstan.
He was born in Shielinsk district, Kyzylorda region. His songs Tolkyn, Nartai sazy, Akhau, zhalgan, Nartaidyn ani and others were included in the gold fund of Kazakh folk songs.
The Kazakh Drama Theater in the Kyzylorda region is named after Nartai Bekezhanov. There is the village of Bekezhanov in Shielinsk district, Kyzylorda region.
Anouarbek Baijanbayev (1923-1989) – presenter in the Kazakh SSR State Committee on Television and Radio, People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR.
He was a World War II veteran. Between 1939 and 1941, he studied at the Institute of Communist Journalism. He graduated from Kazakh Kirov State University.
In 1944, he worked on Kazakh radio. Between 1958 and 1961 he was a presenter on Kazakh television, the main host.
Sarsenbay Yessegenov (1963) – member of the Council of Senators to the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament.
Born in the Guryev region, he graduated from the Guryev Pedagogical Institute of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National State University.
Sergei Khorochun (1966) – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kazakh President.
Born in the northern region of Kazakhstan, he graduated from the Tselinograd Engineering and Construction Institute.
In 2006 and 2019 he served as the first deputy mayor of the city of Astana.
He took up his current position in February 2019.
Salimgerei Bekbergenov (1966) – Deputy Governor of Aktobe Region.
Born in the Astrakhan region, he graduated from the National Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Kazakhstan.
He was appointed to his recent post in December 2020.
Yerlan Aldazhumanov (1966) – member of the High Command of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, Major General.
Born in the city of Semipalatinsk, East Kazakhstan region, he graduated from the Dzerzhinsky Higher Border Command School.
Darkhan Satybaldi (1974) – Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
Born in the southern region of Kazakhstan, he graduated from the Seifullin Akmola Agricultural Institute of the Kazakh University of Humanitarian Law.
Between 2015 and 2017, he served as the First Deputy Governor of the South Kazakhstan region. In 2018 and 2019 he was a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, a member of the Standing Committee for Social and Cultural Development and Science.
He took up his current position in March 2019.
