Former Dy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta and others released the Dogri song “Jammu Di Panchaan” in Jammu on Friday.

JAMMU, June 17: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta released Dogri song ‘Jammu Di Panchaan’ sung by local youths, Vishal Rahi and Shefali Verma and led by KK Malhotra, here today.
While congratulating the artists, Kavinder said they deserved all their appreciation for becoming a torchbearer to promote and preserve the Dogra culture focusing on the Dogri language. He said he expected the younger generation to follow suit by stepping forward to spread the richness of Dogra culture not only in Jammu but across the country and abroad to raise awareness about the intricacies of this ancient but rich heritage through their performance in various fields including theatre, folklore and folk music, Dogri songs, literature, etc.
“Jammu and Kashmir has immense talent but it needs to be explored and perfected by providing a platform for local artists to showcase their hidden talents and skills,” the former Dy CM said.
He said that it is absolutely necessary to encourage local artists capable of preserving and promoting the rich folklore of this region which constitutes an essential part of the cultural heritage which must be passed on to future generations.
On the occasion, BJP District Chairman Vinay Gupta, Sanjita Dogra, President Mahila Morcha Mandal, Chairman Narender Koki, District Secretary, District IT Officer Ankush Dogra, Arvind Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar and the team of “Jammu Di Panchaan” were present.
