Jeanne Magda from Wilkes-Barre passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Jeanne was born and raised in Philadelphia by her widowed mother, Jean, and her brother, Harry.
Jeanne was a liberal arts major at Temple University. She was employed by Sears as an executive in the Philadelphia Human Resources Department for 36 years. She has traveled extensively, visited Europe and Scandinavia, and enjoyed a number of island cruises, as well as a trip on the QE2 to England. She and her beloved husband Frank have toured the United States extensively and have spent 3.5 months each winter in Florida for 20 years.
Jeanne was a member of Wilkes-Barre First Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, elder and administrator, and served three terms as moderator of the women’s association. She was also a member of Forty Fort Church in Kingston.
Jeanne was president of the Wyoming Valley Women’s Association and chaplain of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club.
She is survived by her niece, Tory Ladas, Grantville; and his nephew, Scott McKane, Hill City, SD
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday October 2 at Conygnham Union Cemetery, Conygnham.
